Made..

This is a thing I got off a friends blog and I think it looks really cool! Don't you?

personally to you.

Hi! How are you? I have been doing ok. Actually I have been doing really good spiritually and have been finding more and more peace each day in God’s word. But I still come upon a question I can not answer or really know how to solve. That is, “whose eyes have I lifted or influenced to look to heaven?” One day maybe I’ll call someone one day and have prayer with them but then for the next few days it seems like I just lived my life with out a single scene of outreach. I have started reading MYP and it really emphasizes some of these points; but really how do you execute them? I do feel that the more I read and spend time praying with God, the more I understand, the more I can reach out to a friend who is in need or some other thing such as that. To me there comes a time when we really have to evaluate our current path. I have really felt like that is what God has wanted me to evaluate my course. To me the past seems so depressing but I ask God all the time to help me look to the future and not at the past. I also feel that I really need to practice looking ahead. You might remember in the Vision of Heaven while the people were walking up the narrow path and some looked behind themselves they soon fell of the path. I feel that that applies to us today. Do we look at what we did even just yesterday and think to ourselves oh no! now what and boy I bet God is really going to give it to me this time. Or we might see that and become discouraged, But Jesus said, “Come to me…” So I think that we can’t look and dwell upon the past lest we fail. God ahs a great work for each of us to do and I now I probably spend way to much time thinking about the past and not asking God continually what His plan is for my life at this moment.

Complete Consecration

Complete Consecration
For your present and eternal good it is best to commit yourself wholly to the right, that the world may know where you are standing. Many are not wholly committed to the cause of God, and their position of wavering is a source of weakness in itself, and a stone of stumbling to others. With principles unsettled, unconsecrated as they are, the waves of temptation sweep them away from what they know to be right, and they do not make holy endeavor to overcome every wrong, and through the imputed righteousness of Christ, perfect a righteous character. {MYP 28.2} The world has a right to know just what may be expected from every intelligent human being. He who is a living embodiment of firm, decided, righteous principles, will be a living power upon his associates; and he will influence others by his Christianity. Many do not discern and appreciate how great is the influence of each one for good or evil. Every student should understand that the principles which he adopts become a living, molding influence upon character. He who accepts Christ as his personal Saviour, will love Jesus, and all for whom Christ has died; for Christ will be in him a well of water springing up unto everlasting life. He will surrender himself without reservation to the rule of Christ. {MYP 29.1}

Need for Recreation

In lines of recreation for the student, the best results will be attained through the personal co-operation of the teacher. The true teacher can impart to his pupils few gifts so valuable as the gift of his own companionship. It is true of men and women, and how much more of youth and children, that only as we come in touch through sympathy can we understand them; and we need to understand in order most effectively to benefit. To strengthen the tie of sympathy between teacher and student there are few means that count so much as pleasant association together outside the schoolroom. In some schools the teacher is always with his pupils in their hours of recreation. He unites in their pursuits, accompanies them in their excursions, and seems to make himself one with them. Well would it be for our schools were this practice more generally followed. The sacrifice demanded of the teacher would be great, but he would reap a rich reward. {CH 191.1}

The Youth to be Burden-Bearers

"I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one." [1 JOHN 2:14.] {GW 67.1} In order that the work may go forward in all its branches, God calls for youthful vigor, zeal, and courage. He has chosen the youth to aid in the advancement of His cause. To plan with clear mind and execute with courageous hand demands fresh, uncrippled energies. Young men and women are invited to give God the strength of their youth, that through the exercise of their powers, through keen thought and vigorous action, they may bring glory to Him and salvation to their fellow-men. {GW 67.2} In view of their high calling, the youth among us should not seek for amusement or live for selfish gratification. The salvation of souls is to be the motive that inspires them to action. In their God-given strength they are to rise above every enslaving, debasing habit. They are to ponder well the paths of their feet, remembering that where they lead the way, others will follow. {GW 67.3} No one lives to himself; all exert an influence for good or for evil. Because of this, the apostle exhorts young men to be sober-minded. How can they be otherwise when they remember that they are to be co-workers with Christ, partakers with Him of His self-denial and sacrifice, His forbearance and gracious benevolence? {GW 67.4} To the youth of today, as surely as to Timothy, are spoken the words, "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." "Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace." "Be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." [2 TIM. 2:15, 22; 1 TIM. 4:12.] {GW 67.5}

Seeking to please Him

The Lord has a special work to do for us individually. As we see the wickedness of the world brought to light in the courts of justice and published in the daily papers, let us draw near to God, and by living faith lay hold of His promises, that the grace of Christ may be manifest in us. We may have an influence, a powerful influence, in the world. If the convicting power of God is with us, we shall be enabled to lead souls that are in sin to conversion. {MYP 26.1} Our simplicity will accomplish much in this work. We are not to try to climb up to high positions or to gain the praise of men. Our aim should not be to be the greatest. We are to have an eye single to the glory of God. We are to work with all the intelligence that God has given us, placing ourselves in the channel of light, that the grace of God can come upon us to mold and fashion us to the divine similitude. Heaven is waiting to bestow its richest blessings upon those who will consecrate themselves to do the work of God in these last days of the world's history. We shall be tested and tried; we may be called to spend wakeful nights; but let such times be spent in earnest prayer to God, that He may give understanding, and quicken the mind to discern the privileges that are ours.--Review and Herald, April 1, 1909. {MYP 26.2}

the puzzling Bible verse

MALACHI
3:3 says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.

One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refiningSilver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver." She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.

The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?"He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it."

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.Pass this on right now. This very moment, someone needs to know that God is watching over them.
And, whatever they're going through, they'll be a better person in the end."Life is a coin. You can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once

I saw Jesus

I saw Jesus last week. He was wearing blue jeans andan old shirt. He was up at the church building; He wasalone and working hard. For just a minute he looked alittle like one of our church members. But it wasJesus, I could tell by his smile. I saw Jesus last Sunday. He was teaching a Bibleclass. He didn't talk real loud or use long words, Butyou could tell he believed what he said. For just aminute, he looked like my Sunday School teacher. Butit was Jesus, I could tell by his loving voice. I saw Jesus yesterday. He was at the hospitalvisiting a friend who was sick. They prayed togetherquietly. For just a minute he looked like our pastor.But it was Jesus, I could tell by the tears in hiseyes. I saw Jesus this morning. He was in my kitchen makingmy breakfast He then fixed me a special lunch to takewith me. For just a minute he looked like my Mom. But it wasJesus, I could feel the love from his heart. I saw Jesus today. He was praying on his knees allalone. He then began to cry for those he prayed for. Forjust a minute he looked like a lady from our church.But it was Jesus,I could see the compassion poured out of his prayer. I saw Jesus the other day. He was at the grocerystore talking to a friend. He then put his arms aroundthem to comfort them. For just a minute he looked like a young mother inour ladies class. But it was Jesus, I could see theconcern for others who hurt. I see Jesus everywhere, Taking food to the sick,Welcoming others to his home, Being friendly to anewcomer And for just a minute I think he's someone Iknow. But it's always Jesus, I can tell by the way he serves. May someone see Jesus in you today. "You are My witnesses," says the Lord." (Isaiah 43:5)

FDA attack on OUR FREEDOM!!!

Below is an e-mail that I received today. We all need to *take immediate
action by clicking on the link below* and sending the message as well as
forwarding this to everyone you can. Its our freedom they want to
destroy!
Rob
There is a crisis in health freedom. On April 30, 2007 the FDA will close
the public comment period on a "Guidance" which will classify every
alternative practice as medicine so that only licensed physicians can
carry out the procedure AND vitamins, minerals, herbs, etc., will suddenly
become "untested drugs" which will be forbidden.
Bad? Real Bad! But public outcry can stop this assault on your health and
your freedom.
Spread the word! Tell everyone in your Circle of Influence, professionals,
alternative practitioners, nutrient and herb companies, everyone! Let them
know how important their participation is to make sure the FDA backs off
from this repressive course.
Please share this link with them and urge them to take action: > http://tinyurl.com/2u7ghc

Youth...

We desire our youth to be so trained that they will exert a saving influence in our churches, working for greater unity and deeper piety. Men may not see the necessity for the call to families to leave Battle Creek and settle in places where they can do gospel medical missionary work. But the Lord has spoken. Shall we question His word? {8T 228.3}

Am I a fireman yet?

Ladies, Have a Tissue Ready!!!! ( and Gentlemen)
Am I A Fireman Yet??

In Phoenix , Arizona , a 26-year-old mother stared down at her 6 year old son, who was dying of terminal leukemia. Although her heart was filled with sadness,she also had a strong feeling of determination. Like any parent, she wanted her son to grow up & fulfill all his dreams. Now that was no longer possible. The leukemia would see to that. But she still wanted her son's dream to come true. She took her son' s hand and asked, "Billy, did you ever think about what you wanted to be once you grew up? Did you ever dream and wish what you would do with your life?" Mommy, "I always wanted to be a fireman when I grew up." Mom smiled back and said, "Let's see if we can make your wish come true." Later that day she went to her local fire Department in Phoenix , Arizona , where she met Fireman Bob, who had a heart as big as Phoenix . She explained her son's final wish and Asked if it might be possible to give her 6 year-old son a ride around the block on a fire engine. Fireman Bob said, "Look, we can do better than that. If you'll have your son ready at seven o'clock We dnesday morning, we'll make him an honorary Fireman for the whole day. He can come down to the fire station, eat with us, go out on all the fire calls, the whole nine yards! And if you'll give us his sizes, we'll get a real fire uniform for him, with a real fire hat - not a toy -- one-with the emblem of the Phoenix Fire Department on it, a yellow slicker like we wear and rubber boots.""They're all manufactured right here in Phoenix , so we can get them fast." Three days later Fireman Bob picked up Billy, dressed him in his uniform and escorted him from his hospital bed to the waiting hook and ladder truck. Billy got to sit on the back of the truck and help steer it back to the fire station. He was in heaven. There were three fire calls in Phoenix that day and Billy got to go out on all three calls. He rode in the different fire engines, the Paramedic's' van, and even the fire chief's car. He was also videotaped for the local news program. Having his dream come true, with all the love and attention that was lavished upon him, so deeply touched Billy, that he lived three months longer than any doctor thought possible. One night all of his vital signs began to drop dramatically and the head nurse, who believed in the hospice concept - that no one should die alone, began to call the family members to the hospital. Then she remembered the day Billy had spent as a Fireman, so she called the Fire Chief and asked if it would be possible to send a fireman in uniform to the hospital to be with Billy as he made his transition. The chief replied, "We can do better than that. We'll be there in five minutes. Will you please do me a favor? When you hear the sirens screaming and see the lights flashing, will you announce over the PA system that there is not a fire?" "It's the department coming to see one of its finest members one more time. And will you open the window to his room?"About five minutes later a hook and ladder truck arrived at the hospital and extended its ladder up to Billy's third floor open window-------- 16 fire-fighters climbed up the ladder into Billy's room. With his mother's permission, they hugged him and held him and told him how much they LOVED him.
With his dying breath, Billy looked up at the fire chief and said, "Chief, am I really a fireman now?" "Billy, you are, and the Head Chief, Jesus, is holding your hand," the chief said With those words, Billy smiled and said, "I know, He's been holding my hand all day, and The angels have been singing.." He closed his eyes one last time.

Interesing...

I typed What is this gospel for youth today into our E.G. White writings program on our computer and this is what I got!

The future of society depends on the education and training of the youth of today. Parents, a solemn work is resting upon you. The greatest power, the efficient gospel, has its effect in the well-ordered, well-disciplined family. The children are not be treated as dolls, made to be dressed and undressed,--idols, to have affection and indulgence lavished upon them, and parental self-sacrifice cater to their impulses. They are to learn to obey in the family government. They are to form a symmetrical character, of which God can approve, maintaining law in the home life. Christian parents are to educate their children to obey the law of God. The reasons for this obedience and respect for the law of God may be impressed upon the children as soon as they can understand its nature, so they will know what they should do, and what they should abstain from doing. {RH, May 10, 1898 par. 13}

a new thought...

I was reading in my sabbath school lesson this morning and I thought that I should share with you the interesting statement I found there! "Every sincherished weakens the character and strengthens habit;" COL p. 281

Christian Youth...

Christian youth, I have seen in some of you a love for dress and display which has pained me. In some who have been well instructed, who have had religious privileges from their babyhood, and who have put on Christ by baptism, thus professing to be dead to the world, I have seen a vanity in dress and a levity in conduct that have grieved the dear Saviour and have been a reproach to the cause of God.

from E.G. White's hand...

"There was a young man who had become discouraged through the temptations of Satan and through some mistakes of our brethren who did not understand how to deal with the minds of the youth. He gave up the Sabbath and engaged to work in a manufacturing establishment to perfect his trade in watch-making. He is a very promising young man. My watch needed repairing, which brought us together. I was introduced to him, and as soon as I looked upon his countenance I knew that he was the one whom the Lord had presented before me in vision. The whole circumstance came distinctly before me. . . . "He attended the meeting when he thought I would speak, and would sit with his eyes riveted on me through the entire discourse, which was translated into French by Brother Bourdeau. I felt a duty to labor for this young man. I talked two hours with him and urged upon him the peril of his situation. I told him because his brethren had made a mistake that was no reason that he should grieve the heart of Christ who had loved him so much that He had died to redeem him. . . . "I told him that I knew the history of his life and his errors (which were the simple errors of youthful indiscretion) which were not of a character that should have been treated with so great severity. I then entreated him with tears to turn square about, to leave the service of Satan and of sin, for he had become a thorough backslider, and return like the prodigal to his Father's house, his Father's service. He was in good business learning his trade. If he kept the Sabbath he would lose his position. . . . A few months more would finish his apprenticeship, and then he would have a good trade. But I urged an immediate decision. "We prayed with him most earnestly, and I told him that I dared not have him cross the threshold of the door until he would before God and angels and those present say, 'I 234
will from this day be a Christian.' How my heart rejoiced when he said this. He slept none that night. He said as soon as he made the promise he seemed to be in a new channel. His thoughts seemed purified, his purposes changed, and the responsibility that he had taken seemed so solemn that he could not sleep. The next day he notified his employer that he could work for him no longer. He slept but little for three nights. He was happy, so thankful that the Lord had evidenced to him His pardon and His love."--Letter 59, 1886 (Evangelism, pp. 449-451.) {EGWE 233.1}
